Convert US dollars to and from 20 major currencies. This tool uses fixed reference rates from early 2026, not live rates. For an exact answer, type the rate your bank or card shows today.
The "mid-market rate" (also called the interbank rate) is the real exchange rate you see quoted on Google and in financial news. The reference rates in this tool are approximate mid-market levels from early 2026, not live quotes. Banks and exchange kiosks mark the mid-market rate up, typically adding a 2%–8% spread on top. Airport exchange kiosks are among the worst, sometimes charging effective fees of 8%–15%. For the best rates when traveling or sending money internationally, use services that charge transparent fees close to the mid-market rate.
Wise (formerly TransferWise): rates within 0.35%–1.5% of mid-market with transparent fees, often among the cheapest for international transfers. Remitly: competitive rates especially for transfers to Mexico, India, and the Philippines. OFX: good for large transfers ($5,000+) with dedicated customer service. Your own bank wire: typically 2%–4% spread plus a $25–$45 flat wire fee, which is fine for occasional transfers, expensive for regular ones. For travel cash, use your debit card at local ATMs. Charles Schwab and Fidelity debit cards refund all ATM fees and charge zero foreign transaction fees worldwide.
The rates shown are approximate reference rates from early 2026 based on typical market levels. They are built into the page and do not update. Currency markets move daily, sometimes significantly on economic data or geopolitical events. For actual transactions, always check live rates through your bank, Wise, or a licensed foreign exchange provider immediately before sending. A 1% rate difference on a $10,000 transfer is $100.
