About CalcWyse Editorial Team
CalcWyse is built for one job: helping US households run the numbers on a money decision before they make it — what a salary is worth after tax, what a mortgage really costs to close, how much a 1% fee takes over 30 years, or how large this year’s required minimum distribution is.
The CalcWyse Editorial Team researches, writes and maintains every calculator and guide on the site. We don’t publish anonymous “expert” bylines. Pages carry the team byline, and the evidence for each number is on the page itself: the formula, the assumptions and links to the official sources.
What we check. Before a page is published, and again whenever the IRS, SSA or a state publishes new figures, we check the inputs (limits, brackets, rates) against the primary source, and we check the outputs by recomputing worked examples with the calculation engine.
What we don’t do. We don’t give personalized tax, legal or investment advice, and we don’t claim credentials we can’t show. For a decision specific to you, use the calculators to frame the question and confirm it with a licensed professional.
Found an error? Email calcwyse@gmail.com with the page and the inputs you used. Confirmed corrections are listed on our Editorial Standards page. Read how the numbers are produced on the Methodology page.
How we work
- 📐One calculation engine Worked examples on guide pages are generated from the same code that powers the calculators, so the article and the tool always agree.
- 🏛️Primary sources Tax brackets, contribution limits and benefit rules come from the IRS, SSA, CMS, FHFA and state revenue departments, and each page links to the ones it uses.
- ✅Automated checks before every release Validation scripts recompute published examples and stop the build if a number drifts from the engine.
- 🗓️Dated and reviewed Pages show when they were last reviewed. Tax-year figures are updated when the IRS and SSA publish them; rate-sensitive pages are reviewed monthly.
- 🔒Independent No sponsored content or paid placements. Advertisers and affiliate partners never influence calculator math or conclusions.
Editorial Standards
Every calculator and guide is written against primary US government sources and the CalcWyse calculation engine. Where a figure is an estimate or an assumption (a future return, a typical fee), the page says so. See the Methodology and Editorial Standards pages for the full process and the corrections log.
